Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education Agriculture Scholarships


Agriculture Scholarships Research is a professional model to develop capacity to improve teaching and learning methods that build promote a better understanding of the concepts of knowledge and principles of Brunei.

Entry requirements:

Agriculture Scholarships Applicants must have the qualifications and experience:

high degree of specialization (if possible first or second degree in a subject of knowledge or knowledge of education)
Master of Education (if possible in the knowledge of education)
taught in a relevant discipline knowledge for a little over 3 years.
Knowledge of the English language â € "at least by the score of 6.0 IELTS or TOEFL test are 550 (PBT) or 80 (IBT) or Class 6 in English or GCE O-level a note 'C' in IGCSE (as a second language)



First choice will be given to Brunei citizens or Permanent Residents. Overseas students may be considered as well.

FUNDING:

Agriculture Scholarships funded by the Knowledge Technology Research Grant will be awarded on a competitive footing. ONLY SHORT LISTED CANDIDATES WILL BE NOTIFIED. The Scholarship will cover tuition fees plus a maintenance grant.

The project is plotted to start as soon as possible for full-time study. The Scholarship will be offered for one year in the first instance, and is renewable for a maximum of three years subject to satisfactory academic performance.

FIU McNair Graduate Fellowship USA

The FIU McNair Graduate Fellowship was created to encourage promising undergraduate McNair Scholars to pursue their graduate education at Florida International University. Beginning this Fall 2011 semester, FIU’s University Graduate School will award a limited number of FIU McNair Graduate Fellowships to McNair Scholars based on a nomination from their graduate program. To be considered for the fellowship a student must be fully admitted to a master’s or doctoral degree program at FIU for the Fall 2011 semester. Preference will be given to students who are entering a doctoral program.

Doctoral Student Award Details:

FIU McNair Graduate Fellowships for doctoral students provide four years of support with a $23,000 annual stipend plus a tuition waiver and individual health insurance. The University Graduate School will provide the support for the first two years in the form of a fellowship. The academic department will continue to provide the same level of support during the 3rd and 4th years through a (0.5 FTE) teaching or research assistantship. Students may not receive other FIU fellowships or fellowships from outside agencies during the first two years of the award.

Eligibility – Nominees must:

- be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
- be newly admitted to/entering a master’s or doctoral degree program at FIU for the Fall 2011 semester (currently enrolled graduate students are not eligible)

Training Scholarship UFAW Universities Federation for Animal Welfare

As part of its endeavours to encourage high quality science likely to lead to substantial advances in animal welfare, UFAW will be running a scheme to award a UFAW Animal Welfare Research Training Scholarship to enable a promising veterinary or science graduate to undertake a three-year programme of research leading to a degree at the doctorate level. This award will be open to research institutions within the British Isles and overseas institutions at which there is a UFAW University Link(please see the UFAW Website).

UFAW would particularly like to encourage applications in the following fields:

•development of methodologies aimed at elucidation of the neurological basis of sentience in animals
•developments in approaches to alleviating welfare problems in farmed, companion and/or laboratory animals through breeding
•developments in detection and alleviation of pain
•development of methods of welfare / quality of life assessment

Post-doctoral researcher at Department of Biochemistry, Ghent University agriculture scholarships

The recently established group of Prof. Dr. Lennart Martens, located in Ghent, Belgium, focuses on the analysis and integration of omics data. The group is working on the development of computational proteomics approaches, the analysis of large-scale lipidomics data, and the creation of tools to integrate across-omics data.

We are currently looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work on the computational proteomics project. The goal of this project is to increase the efficiency of targeted proteomics methods such as Selected Reaction Monitoring (SRM) through ab initio computational determination of optimal target peptides and transitions.

Profile

The successful candidates will have obtained or submitted their PhD and will have a proven track record of high-quality research and experience in bioinformatics and/or data mining. Experience in proteomics informatics is considered an advantage.
